Salmon Song

Gods and little fishes live,
Like tortoises and parrots,
Until some ill befalls them.
So oceanic sages say.

They do not live as we do,
Dying all the way. The stream
Of birth and rebirth fails us
Or we climb it our own way,

Another successful means
To keep hunger hungrier.
I have an appointment, sharp
At the end with a bear. Please.
